I received my undergraduate education from the University of Michigan with a double major in Biopsychology and Women’s Studies. I then moved to New York City and completed both a bachelors and masters in nursing at Columbia University School of Nursing. I began working, first in Connecticut and then in the Capital District, as a Board-Certified Nurse Midwife for a total of 12 years. During those years, I provided gynecologic, obstetric, mental-health, and primary care to women of all ages. Through this work, I developed a deeper interest in women’s mental health issues. Eventually I decided to move my practice in this direction on a more permanent basis by pursuing a post-master’s certificate as an Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Sage Graduate School. I work both in private practice and at Equinox, Inc. Outpatient Mental Health Clinic.
